What this is
Most of us were raised by men who were trying their best with what they had. Men who loved hard but didn't always know how to say it. Men who showed up to work every day but sometimes couldn't show up to the conversation. That's not failure. That's inheritance.
"The Tools Our Fathers Never Had." is a free community event that brings Black men together to watch the short film Generations — a powerful visual meditation on Black love, fatherhood, and the weight of expectation across time — and then sit in an honest, facilitated conversation about what it means to be a partner, a father, and a man in this moment.
This is not therapy. This is not church. This is a room of brothers doing what we rarely give ourselves permission to do: be real with each other.
This room is for you if…
01
You're in a relationship — or want to be — and you want to go in prepared, not hoping.
02
What he passed down. What he couldn't. What you want to do differently.
03
Ready to have the kind of conversation Black men don't usually get invited into.
